Flavours Forged in Tradition

Perap (Malay for ‘marinade’) is more than just a BBQ service—it’s the modern chapter of a family story that began in 1974. Born from the legacy of Kejora Nasi Padang at Market Street Hawker Centre, Perap is run by three siblings who have taken their family’s culinary heritage and infused it with bold, non-conventional flavours.

Today, we bring that decades-old expertise straight to your grill. Every order is freshly marinated and prepared upon request, ensuring the quality and taste that our family has been known for since our grandparents first opened their doors. Whether you are planning a corporate event or a casual steamboat gathering, consider us your one-stop shop for everything BBQ.

This overdue and I finally had time to pen down my thoughts.

I’m truly grateful to you for providing such delicious BBQ food for my wedding dinner celebration at Changi Cottage on April 13th.

Your guidance on food selection and recommendations were immensely helpful. I appreciate your flexibility in delivering during the Hari Raya weekend celebrations (you are closed and yet you made the exception for me), it truly touched my heart and earned my support. The satays and the chicken wings were absolutely amazing, and all my guests thoroughly enjoyed them.

The chef’s professionalism and composure while feeding 70 hungry guests were commendable.

Thank you once again for contributing to a memorable evening.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your services to anyone in need of BBQ catering. Thank you once again for your outstanding work and dedication.

We were looking for a bbq supplier to provide bbq food and chef services for our office year-end event.
In summary, I shall just put what potential customers would want to read.

FOOD
The menu provided at Perap BBQ’s website is in a way unique as compared to the larger BBQ suppliers in Singapore. Ayam Kicap Manis is a must try. The Sambal sotong and stingray is especially potent and the sambal itself is well made. Perap BBQ really takes their marinades seriously. The Satay as well is good, and does not taste like it was made in a factory line.

ENGAGEMENT
Queries were addressed promptly. Perap BBQ meets requirements and delivery was on time. They were able to advise us well as well and there was no hardselling involved. They are also flexible and honestly replies were not “copy pasted”.

CHEF SERVICES
The chef services provided were also good as well. Their staff were very quick in preparing the food in an orderly manner.

Honestly, if you have been ordering from the usual few BBQ companies in Singapore, you should really consider Perap BBQ. Give them a chance, you will be blown out of your minds. The food that they provided was like a “breath of fresh air” as compared to the usual companies in Singapore. Personally, I will definitely be engaging them again for a future BBQ.

My guests enjoyed the food a lot. Special mention to the dory fish and scallops that my guests loved….As the host, I was sad I didn’t get to try everything because busy entertaining my guests. But I gathered feedback from my guests & it was all positive…I added-on the chef as well —she was supposed to come 6.30-9.30 but she came earlier at 6pm not a big problem for me but I didn’t know what to instruct her to do from 6-6.30pm since my guests are only coming at 7pm…To me it’s not an issue because the food made up for it 🙂 I’ll engage next time with Perap BBQ with a better idea in mind on how to host the BBQ as it was my first! Tq for the amazing first BBQ experience for my birthday party!

BBQ Tips

Know Your Grill

You need to know your grill like that person you’re crushing on and hoping to get a date with. Just like every crush is different, every grill is different. Read the grill manual. It will tell you how to turn on the grill, which is dangerous if you do it wrong. You don’t want to be that person who burnt off their eyebrows before they even got to making the food.

Use Metal Utensils, Not Plastic

Make sure you have metal utensils to use because plastic will melt. While you’re checking off the right preparations, always be sure you have enough gas or charcoal for the grill, and a cool drink might be nice too because it’ll get really hot by the grill.

Oil it up

Grills are like cooking pans (only a little). They cook things and need oil to keep food from sticking. Before you turn on the grill, lather up a paper towel with cooking oil and rub it all over the grate. If you already turned it on, then use tongs to hold the paper towel.
